The application for a historical marker at the site of Rodeo New Mexico's first airport, the Rodeo Intermediate Field, has been approved by the New Mexico Scenic Historic Marker by the Cultural Properties Review Committee at its December 10 meeting. Because of budgetary constraints the marker will not be placed until sometime this summer. But it is good news, the first airport in the San Simon Valley and part of the national intermediate field system will be recognized for its historic value.
